Cats and Dogs up for Adoption

Kitten season has just begun. Two mother cats and their kittens were recently brought to the clinic for the mums to be desexed and the kittens to be watched after. If this year is anything like last year this is just the beginning.

Although these kittens are too young to be adopted, we have a number of older cats who are looking for good homes. They would make great rat, cockroach and mokos chasers. Each has their own story and personality so come down to the Esther Honey Clinic to check them out.

We did have a number of dogs for rehoming also, but the article that we placed last week in the Cook Islands NEWS was so successful at getting the word out into the community that by the next day all four dogs were adopted! Since then a few more strays were delivered to the clinic but all were quickly adopted. Thanks guys! Without the kind support of the Cook Islands NEWS team and a receptive community we would really struggle at times. We are grateful to both the paper and the community for helping us to rehome island cats and dogs.

The most effective and only permanent solution to ending the number of unwanted animals is desexing. Please spay and neuter. The Esther Honey Foundation provides this service at no cost to the person bringing the animals in. We encourage donations as this is the only way we can offer care to all animals in the Cook Islands, but if you are unable to donate, the most important thing is get them to the clinic.
